Cairo Amman Bank Signs US$8 Million Financing Agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to Support Green Projects in Palestine.
As part of its firm commitment to advancing sustainable finance and accelerating the transition toward a green economy, Cairo Amman Bank has signed a US$8 million financing agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to on-lend the funds for green projects in the Palestinian market.
The financing, extended under the Green Economy Financing framework” GEFF”, will be channeled to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) as well as individual clients seeking to invest in renewable energy, energy efficiency, water management, resource efficiency, circular economy initiatives, and environmentally friendly technologies that contribute to reducing emissions and enhancing sustainability.
The program also includes technical assistance and investment incentives for eligible sub-borrowers, providing practical support to facilitate the adoption of green solutions and reduce investment costs, thereby accelerating the shift toward more efficient and sustainable production and consumption practices.
Cairo Amman Bank emphasized that this agreement reflects its strategic vision to expand its sustainable finance portfolio and strengthen its role as a key partner in promoting long-term economic development.
